For the oncology pharmacist ready to rock the BCOP exam…
What if you could tie up your BCOP preparation with a bow and walk into the exam knowing you’ve got this?
You’ve made the decision to go after board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) and you’re trying really hard NOT to think about the ~60% pass rate
You have invested a lot of time and mental energy studying for the exam and as the date gets closer you get more and more nervous about whether you’ve studied the right information
It’s HARD to have confidence preparing for the BCOP exam because even though you work in oncology, your life can’t revolve around studying and you don’t see every disease and treatment in your role
Like the driven pharmacist you are, you’ve done all the things to get prepared. You put your head down and started reading everything you heard that was helpful.
You keep reminding yourself of your goal to achieve BCOP status. You can envision finally getting there after all your hard work and basking in the flood of “congratulations” when you announce you have passed.
Besides learning the content, you also need to study the same way you will be tested…with multiple choice questions
Hi there!
Kelley here 👋 - lover of emojis, anything with cheese 🧀, and someone that distinctly remembers taking the initial BCOP exam. I felt…
😰 Anxious - that’s a long time to sit and answer questions!
⌛ Doubt about whether I gave myself enough time to study
🤯 Worried I would draw a blank when starting at the screen
😭 Apprehension from the waiting game after the exam - why does it take so long?!
But I survived (and passed!) and that’s why I’m excited to offer you…

Hey there, I’m Kelley!
I’m an evangelist of oncology pharmacy and the passionate creator and curator of content that supports my fellow oncology pharmacists!
Over here in my world - I’m the go-to gal shouting from the rooftops that any pharmacist can learn oncology with the right support
Not that learning oncology and passing the BCOP exam is easy, it may be one of the most difficult things you do - but it’s worth the effort because of what this knowledge and certification can do for you and your career
After taking and passing the initial and recertification BCOP exams, I have learned the value in using practice questions as a studying strategy
Learning the material is one thing, but you also have to prepare yourself to think in the same way you’ll be tested, which is through multiple choice questions
I’ve been in the trenches of oncology pharmacy for more than a decade and nothing brings me more joy than helping other pharmacists be successful in oncology
I know you can pass BCOP, you just need a guide
Now, in case you think I must be a robot, here are a few fun “human” facts about me:
I’ve always owned cars with a manual transmission and refuse to buy an automatic 🚗
I took a classical guitar class at the same time as organic chemistry in undergrad because I needed to use a different side of my brain 🎸
I have 5 sisters (yep, all girls!), and of my 10 nieces and nephews, there are 9 boys 🤷
I spent most of my life writing left-handed until I got tired of smudging and taught myself to switch hands✍️
Your pharmacist brain might be wondering…

The BCOP pharmacists that support the ELO Collaborative and ELO Blueprint programs write and review the questions. You can see the current list of these experts here.
-
Questions get a full review by a BCOP every 8 months, which aligns with the content review in the ELO Collaborative and ELO Blueprint programs.
-
New questions are added, and current questions reviewed, in each topic area every 8 months which aligns with the content review in the ELO Collaborative and ELO Blueprint programs. Because the content review calendar is on a rolling schedule, that means there are new questions added almost every week!
-
Yes, you can access 5 practice questions here. The questions inside the question bank will display the answer explanation after each question (except in the mock exam) which is different from these practice questions that display at the end.
-
Yes! The Enjoy Learning Oncology program helps you prepare for the BCOP exam through 24 weekly lessons. Choose the tier that best aligns with your needs, from self-led to robust support from experienced pharmacists.
A final note before you go…
It is true that the BCOP exam is difficult, as evidenced by the pass rate hovering around 60% for the past several years
AND that doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t pass
The Board of Pharmacy Specialities truly wants you to succeed - if you doubt this, think about their business model 😂
And I want you to succeed too! I have seen the benefits of this certification in my own career and want that for you too, especially if you didn’t complete residency training because having BCOP after your name makes that question moot.
Only you can decide what is the best strategy to prepare. Please know I’m cheering you on regardless of your decision. I wish you success on your journey because our patients need, and deserve, a knowledgeable pharmacist on their side and YOU deserve a career you love.
And when you pass, I would love to hear about it - tag me in a LinkedIn post when you celebrate!
